IEEE Fellow Mary Ellen Randall has been elected as the 2025 IEEE President-Elect. She will officially assume the presidency on January 1, 2026, pending final approval by the IEEE Board of Directors during the IEEE Board Series in November.
As a champion for IEEE, Randall’s dedication for the organization runs deep. She has held numerous leadership positions, including IEEE treasurer, Director of IEEE Region 3, Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering, and vice president of IEEE Member and Geographic Activities. In 2016, she founded the IEEE MOVE program, aimed at providing disaster relief and promoting STEM education—a testament to her commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
As a member of the IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu honor society, Randall has earned multiple prestigious accolades, including the 2020 IEEE Haraden Pratt Award for outstanding volunteer service.
Randall is no stranger to innovation. She founded Ascot Technologies in 2000 in Cary, North Carolina, where she serves as the award-winning CEO. Her company focuses on developing enterprise applications that leverage mobile data delivery technologies, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the tech world.
Before launching Ascot, Randall enjoyed a successful career at IBM, where she held various technical and managerial roles in hardware and software development, digital video chips, and test design automation.
