IEEE Sections and Societies can earn financial rewards for nominating a member for Senior Member Grade. Technical Societies are eligible for the Nominate a Senior Member Initiative designed to encourage Chapters and Sections to become actively involved in promoting the Senior Member grade. To qualify, Senior member applications and reference forms must be completed no later than 15 November of the year. Chapters, Sections and Societies that nominate at least five successful new Senior members will be awarded US$10 for each Senior member. No rebate will be rewarded if it is for less than US$50.
The Society begins planning in-person drives with the chapters to nominate individuals to Senior Member grade in August at start of the new membership year. Contact Lisa Sandt, Society staff, at L.Sandt@ieee.org for further details.
In order for an application to be reviewed at a Review Panel meeting, the application, resume, and required reference forms have to be submitted and received at least ten days prior to an A&A Review Senior Member Panel meeting. Newly elevated Senior members are generally published within two weeks after the meeting.
The status of applications, or nominations of members, submitted through the online application can be checked at any time. View newly elevated Senior members.
