Globalization Committee

The IEEE Photonics Society established a Globalization Committee to ensure that the members in which it serves are globally represented in all aspects of organization. The Committee also facilitates interconnected outreach methods to encourage international development in the photonics community.

Mission & Strategic Objectives

Review similarities, differences & assets of the varying IEEE designated regions of the world in relation to photonics technology;
Identify geographical areas where photonic trends and membership interests are emerging;
Provide global strategy, needs assessments and accountability procedures for other councils/committees to follow;
Establish sister-society agreements and regional unity projects with national societies and global associations;
Develop creative solutions to reach and engage with the developing world.
