The “Kasih Rezeki” program took place through a collaborative effort between the IEEE Photonics Society Malaysia Chapter, the Tun Fatimah Hashim Women’s Leadership Centre, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and local communities. The event was held at the Sungai Buah Mosque in Dengkil and Batu 5, Bangi Lama, Malaysia. In honor of the holy month of Ramadhan, the program was driven by the spirit of giving back to society and offering support to those in need, particularly as part of the preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya festive season.
A range of activities were organized as part of the program, including food preparation and distribution to members of the local community, as well as relief packages for senior citizens, orphans, and other individuals in need. A total of 74 individuals benefited from the distribution of food and essential items, all carefully prepared by the event’s organizers. This charitable initiative not only provided tangible support to those less fortunate but also strengthened the sense of community and solidarity among the participants. Events like “Kasih Rezeki” are vital because they help foster a sense of community, solidarity, and compassion. By coming together to support those in need, whether it’s through food distribution, relief packages, or simply offering a helping hand, these programs provide practical assistance to vulnerable groups

The program concluded with the distribution of “Bubur Lambuk,” a lightly spiced rice porridge, to local communities. Representatives from the IEEE Photonics Society Malaysia Chapter, including Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhana Arsad, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Barirah Ahmad Anas, and Ir. Ts. Dr. Nurul Asyikin bt Mohamed Radzi, joined other members of the organizing committee to officiate the event and oversee the food and relief distribution. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Barirah Ahmad Anas, Chair of the IEEE Photonics Society Malaysia Chapter and a participant in the “Kasih Rezeki” program, expressed hope that such initiatives would continue in the future. She emphasized the importance of these programs in supporting those in need while providing a platform to give back to the community and Society.
