PETER DRAGIC

PETER DRAGIC (M’05) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has served as a journal topical editor and on technical program committees for multiple conferences, in different capacities, including 3 years as a member of the Fiber Photonics subcommittee within CLEO. Additionally, he continues to serve as a reviewer for IEEE Photonics Society journals.

JORG PETER ELBERS2

JÖRG-PETER ELBERS (M’00-SM’18) is Senior Vice President Advanced Technology, Standards & IPR at ADVA and based in Martinsried, Germany. He actively participated in many IEEE Photonic Society (IPS) conferences over the past years and has been a frequent reviewer of IPS publications. For six years, he was associate editor of the IEEE/OSA Journal of Optical Communications & Networking (JOCN). Jörg served on the program committee of OFC, the largest global event for optical communications and networking, and was OFC Program Chair in 2017 and General Chair in 2019. He became a member of the OFC Long Range Planning (LRP) committee and was appointed IPC representative on the OFC Steering Committee in 2021.

SHINJI MATSUO (M’94-SM’14-F’16) is a senior distinguished researcher in NTT Device Technology Laboratories, NTT Corporation, Japan. He has participated in the organization of numerous IEEE Photonics Society (IPS) conferences over the years, in particular, he has served as a committee member of the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO), the Optical Fiber Conference (OFC), IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC), IEEE Semiconductor Laser Conference (ISLC), Compound Semiconductor Week (CSW) and was general co-chair for OFC 2022 and CSW 2019. He has also been active in societal journals, he served as associate editor of the IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology (JLT) and IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics (JSTQE). He was the IEEE Photonics Society 2019-2020 Distinguished Lecturer.

ROBERT TENCH

ROBERT TENCH ((M ’94 SM ’01) is Chief Scientific Officer of Cybel, LLC in Bethlehem, PA, and President and Chief Scientist of RET and Associates LLC in Allentown, PA. He has been involved in volunteer work for the IEEE optics and photonics community for many years. He was Secretary and subsequently Chair of the IEEE COMSOC Optical Transmission Committee from 1994-2002, and organized, sponsored, and led optical communications and photonics activities, sessions, paper reviews, and workshops for international IEEE Globecom and ICC conferences from 1994-2003. He has organized and led advanced optical amplifier workshops for OFC and contributed over 40 conference and journal papers for publications and meetings sponsored by the IPS. He is currently organizing and sponsoring technical talks on photonics and modern optics for the IEEE Lehigh Valley Section, focusing on their joint work with the Society of Women Engineers at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
