Dr. Sorin Tibuleac, Director of System Architecture at ADVA leads R&D activities in optical system design, which include investigations of new WDM technologies, components, and system architectures, and development of optical system specifications and engineering rules for all network deployments of ADVA’s WDM system. He has over 20 years of experience in optical telecom spanning a range of activities including WDM system design, product management, system deployment, and network applications.
Dr. Tibuleac is also Adjunct Professor at the Electrical and Computer Science Department at Georgia Tech.
Sorin Tibuleac graduated from the University of Bucharest, Romania with a Diploma in Applied Physics, and holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, where his research focused on diffractive optics and waveguide-grating resonances.
His current research interests include high capacity WDM transmission, ROADM networks, transmission impairments, and performance monitoring. He has co-authored over 120 journal and conference papers, 2 book chapters, and 18 published patents in the fields of fiber-optic telecommunications, and diffractive optics.
