Nebojša Stojanović is the Chief of Optical Algorithms Architecture at the Heisenberg Research Center (Huawei) in Munich, Germany. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Niš, Serbia, in 1995 and subsequently served in academia as an Assistant and later Associate Professor at the University of Niš (1987-2000). He has since worked in the optical telecommunications industry as an FEC designer for Siemens AG (2001-2002), a senior DSP engineer and architect for CoreOptics GmbH (2002-2009), and a freelance consultant (2009-2013). Since 2013, he has led or contributed to projects on coherent and non-coherent spectrally efficient optical transmission systems for METRO, PON, DC, FTTR, and FH/BH applications at Huawei. His main fields of expertise include modulation, line coding, error correction coding, timing recovery, equalization, and digital signal processing design for optical systems. He is a member of IEEE and has contributed to the organization committee of the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC).

For JLT, he is handling submissions on the following topics:
• Optical fiber transmission systems and subsystems
• Digital signal processing for coherent and noncoherent optical fiber transmission
• Modeling and experimental demonstrations of optical transmission systems
