Cybersecurity in the Age of GenAI: Defending Systems, Data, and Trust

Generative AI (GenAI) is reshaping cybersecurity by improving speed, automation, and human decision-making capabilities. However, it also creates new security challenges across systems (data and applications). How GenAI can be used for threat detection, incident response, and secure coding practices will be explained. The session highlights the risks, such as prompt injection, sensitive data leakage, model poisoning, misuse of AI agents, and other GenAI-specific threats. You will learn why sensitive data must be protected throughout the full lifecycle (at rest, in transit, during training, during retrieval, and throughout deployment).  Trust, identity, access control, and human oversight must be foundational to any GenAI-enabled solutions. The goal is to help organizations use AI to strengthen cybersecurity operations, while securing AI systems against emerging threats (prompt injection, data leakage, model poisoning, and misuse of autonomous agents).
