The IEEE Photonics Journal is accepting submissions for a Special Issue on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices, featuring expanded papers from the 2026 International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD 2026) in Cork, Ireland, as well as original manuscripts within the conference scope.
The Special Issue welcomes research on recent advances in the modeling and simulation of semiconductor lasers, LEDs, optical modulators and amplifiers, photodetectors, solar cells, photonic and optoelectronic devices and circuits, photonic integrated circuits, nanophotonics, quantum photonics, optical fibers, and related technologies.
Contributions addressing advanced numerical methods, multiphysics and multiscale modeling, optimization and inverse design, machine-learning-assisted simulation, experimental validation, and open science are also encouraged.

Tentative Publication: Spring 2027
